My name is Susan Artup and I was authorized a Civil Celebrant by the Attorney General in 1995. Since then I have performed hundreds of ceremonies, from intimate elopements to complex rituals. It has been a privilege to receive an insight into what ritual means for the families I have worked with. My clients have been drawn from neighbourhood friends to overseas couples, for whom I have been able to conduct ceremonies in French, German and Indonesian.
Over the decades I have been able to gather a rich repertoire of ceremonies on which to base my advice on ceremony design, and am committed to listening to your needs and ideas for your wedding.
There have been many changes in the Civil Celebrant Programme since its beginnings in the 1970s and I have trained many new and existing celebrants, as well as maintaining my own professional development annually.
Couples, too, are increasingly discerning in the choices they make for their wedding day and I am aware of the vital, yet subtle role played by the right celebrant for you. In response to the growing demand for such personalized ceremonies, I am now offering a full-time service to ritual-making and rites of passage.
I will also attend to all the legal requirements of your wedding and will advise you wherever possible on any concerns you may have.
