ross hill vineyard was established in 1994 by Peter and Terri Robson. \ Son James and his wife Chris, who both have extensive experience in hospitality, hotel and business management, have recently joined the company, to continue the hard work, passion and dedication by Peter and Terri, to produce elegant cool climate ross hill wines of exceptional quality.\ \ The vineyard is situated on gentle, north-facing slopes at an elevation of 800 metres. ross hill wines display the Orange region?s excellent cool climate varietal characteristics.\ \ With 12 ha under vines, ross hill white wines include Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The iconic red styles include Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Shiraz.\ \ The vines are hand pruned to provide fruit of exceptional quality and flavour, rather than volume. No insecticides are used and irrigation is reduced significantly through a program of mulching cover crops planted between the rows of vines in autumn and winter.\ \ ross hill has a substantial olive grove with Italian varieties Frantoio and Corregiola and Spanish varieties Manzanilla and Arbequina.\ \ ross hill also has Australia?s first free-range snail farm, producing snails for the restaurant trade and for special occasion dinners.\ \ \ our location: \ ross hill vineyard is on Griffin Road ? just a few kilometers north of the central-western NSW city of Orange.
